European Patent Validation and National Renewal Fees

Once the mention of the grant is published in Official Journal of the EPO, the European patent has to be validated in each of the designated European country within a specific time limit to retain its protective effect and be enforceable against infringers. In a number of contracting states, the patent owner may have to file a translation of the patent specification in an official language of the national patent office.

Under the EPC, "national" renewal fees in respect of a European patent are generally imposed for the years which follow that in which the mention of the grant of the European patent is published in the "European Patent Bulletin". We provide you with our validation services not only in Turkey but also across Europe in collaboration with our European colleagues. Our patent attorneys take care that the renewal fees are duly paid.
